SB12-099 - Expand Access To Academic Model Juvenile Facility

Concerning Expansion Of Access To Services For Juveniles At The Academic Model Juvenile Facility.

The bill expands access to services at the academic model juvenile facility that is owned by the state of Colorado and operated pursuant to a contract with a private provider by allowing the facility to also house and serve juveniles who are in the temporary custody of a county department of social services or who are in need of out-of-home placement. This facility is known as the Ridge View Youth Services Center.

The contractor shall work with the department of human services to develop and maintain high-quality programming that is appropriate for and meets the needs of the juveniles placed in the facility. The bill makes other conforming amendments to the statute governing the facility.
